NEW BIBLE STUDY OPPORTUNITIES AT SALEM!

Do you wish you could talk with your child about what they learned in Sunday School?

Do you occasionally feel like your kids might know more about the Bible than you?

Do you want to know more about Bible stories everyone else seems to know?

If the answer is, “Yes!” to any of those questions, we’d like to invite you to join Steve Siepman and Pam Moellenhoff for Bible Study 2.0, which meets in the Cafeteria from 9:30-10:30 on Sunday mornings.  Each week, the study is focused on the lesson the kids are learning in Sunday School.

Families who learn together, grow together. The Growing in Christ curriculum offers lessons and Bible stories for the whole family. Every level focuses on the same topics, taught in age-appropriate ways.

This approach encourages growing in faith as a family by allowing each member to discuss what they learn in Sunday School. It helps reinforce the lesson for everyone!

Here’s what’s coming up in the next few weeks! We hope to see you!

February 12th – Jesus Heals Jairus’s Daughter (Mark 5: 21-24, 35-43)

February 19th – The Transfiguration (Mark 9: 2-10)

February 26th – Jesus Calms a Storm (Mark 4: 35-41)

Other Bible Studies offered during this time are:

The book of Exodus – in the Fellowship Hall at church

The book of John in the Music Room at school

They Like Jesus, but not the Church – in the 7th grade classroom (led by me!)

In They Like Jesus but Not the Church you will encounter the firsthand thoughts and feelings of those who find Jesus attractive but don’t care for organized religion. Here are insights that will allow you to respond truthfully, caringly, and engagingly to such concerns as:

  • Isn’t the church just organized religion that is politically motivated?
  • Is the church homophobic?
  • Does it take the entire Bible literally?
  • Does the church repress women?
  • Is it judgmental and negative?
  • Does it arrogantly think all other religions are wrong?

We’d love to see you!
